The Urban Decay Alice Through the Looking Glass Eyeshadow palette launched on 1st May to coincide with Disney’s sequel to Alice In Wonderland, Alice Through the Looking Glass which will hit the cinemas
As soon as I saw this palette I knew I had to get my hands on it and it certainly does not disappoint. This palette is the most beautiful palette I have been lucky enough to own and everything about it screams Alice in Wonderland.
As you take the palette from the box you are welcomed by its stunning yet hallucinogenic packaging, decorated by blooms, butterflies and quotes, for example ‘I’m not strange, weird, off, nor crazy, my reality is just different from yours’ as well as ‘we’re all mad here’ which is printed on the reasonably sized mirror. With the packaging of this palette, we take a step back into Urban Decay’s past as it is cardboard and fairly larger and bulky. You will either adore this little throwback, or you’re going to hate it as a minimalist. When you lift the lid and open the cited black doors, you’ll see a blue butterfly which flutters as you move the doors. I can’t believe the attention to detail, it’s incredible. A kaleidoscope of colour and fine art which is exactly how you would envision wonderland to be.
The collections centrepiece, a stunning 20 shadow palette filled with all new shades of both wearable neutrals and psychedelic brights, ensures there is something for every makeup lover to enjoy. There is a pull out draw with the quote ‘I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must of changed several times since then’ along the front. The draw holds a mixture of every shade you would associate with wonderland and has a column of colours dedicated to each main character from left to right, Alice, Mad Hatter, Mirana, Iracebeth, and Time. Each shade is aptly named after characters and words associated with the film.
All of the shadows inside the palette are made using Urban Decay’s Pigment Infusion System which makes every shadow super pigmented and an absolute dream to blend. The shades are a mix of shimmers, glitters and mattes. Alice’s shades are soft and subtle while the Madhatter’s are daring and vivid.
I couldn’t think of a brand other than Urban Decay who could pull off such an incredible collection for Disney’s Alice in Wonderland. It’s quirky, stunning and every inch represents a piece of wonderland. If you’re looking to add a little excitement to your makeup collection I would definitely pick this one up!
What do you think of the palette? Are you as excited as me to see the film?
