This is my best holy grail makeup tool that I have purchased in April so I figured I would write a more in-depth review and dedicate a post to it rather than including it in my monthly favourites. I have no idea how long this little sponge will last me but I definitely have no problems repurchasing.
I am so late on the bandwagon to own this sponge! Whenever I saw a blog post or YouTube video praising this product, I’d always be incredibly suspicious of this ‘magical sponge’, especially when people were claiming it to me the most incredible tool that you will ever use on your face.
It has been pretty much a year of debate over whether or not I should pick up this sponge and I finally took the plunge and went out and bought it. Now I am shaking myself because I should have got this product a hell of a lot sooner!
This sponge has answered all of my prayers, especially because I have dry skin. Stippling brushes just hurt my skin and tend to irate the dryer areas on my face, meaning I can’t achieve any sort of patting motion with my normal foundation brushes so 9 times out of 10 of the time my makeup just looks streaked on. Also, a lot of other face sponges don’t have the right shape to reach those hard-to-reach areas.
I had found the Real Techniques Buffing Brush to by my best bet. I thought I was more than ok with the application of my foundation, but since using the sponge, I have noticed a huge difference and I very much doubt I will go back to using a brush.
This sponge has 3 areas that you can use for application. I mostly like to use the flat side and the tip, but the sides can also be used. I use the sponge dry because I like a full coverage finish but it has been recommended to use it wet if you are looking for a more dewy finish. I have never had a flawless finish to my foundation before, but its easy to achieve with this sponge.
If you own this tool, how do you find it?
