As you all know by now, I’m a makeup junkie. My large collection of beauty products is probably big enough to rival a small Superdrug store. I just can’t get enough of trying new products. It’s just my hobby. I love collecting, applying and perfecting makeup. I swatch, I test and I rotate through hundreds of products just for fun! As much as I love trying the high end goodies from the likes of Charlotte Tilbury, Chanel or Nars, I also love finding a good ol’ bargain from my favourite drugstore brands. The British high street is pretty exceptional when it comes to beauty products – endless brands and a constant stream of new products to quench our love of makeup. Not to mention the high quality! Although this was a tough task, I have come up with my top 10 beauty products under £10!
This concealer costs just £4.19 and is undoubtedly one of the best (if not the best) under eye concealers I have ever used. I use the shade ‘Fair 1’ which is the lightest shade available and I find that it matches my skin tone perfectly. This concealer works perfectly for covering spots and brightening the under eye area. I’m probably on my 10th tube by now because I use it religiously.
I’m always interested in finding and trying out concealers that will cover my ghastly under eye circles and I think I’ve found ’the one’. The light, fine and loose liquid texture is not only a dream to blend into the skin but it really does cover up dark circles. It’s one of the few concealers I have tried that doesn’t settle into fine lines nor does it crease. The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind does all it says on the tin – erases dark circles, helps with any puffiness of the area and blurs fine lines instantly. Basically, if you want a brighter, smoother under eye area without the need for several products then this one is for you. You will love it.
Will I ever stop raving about this foundation? Probably not. Healthy Mix is my absolute go to for everyday wear because of the perfect finish, the perfect coverage and it lasts forever. What more could you ask for? Rich in vitamins, this foundation works to erase all imperfections and keeps the skin looking fresh and glowing. It has a soft, fresh texture that blends into the skin for a comfortable, flawless finish. It has a medium to buildable coverage that doesn’t look cakey on the skin.
Frankly speaking, there is nothing I don’t like about this foundation. The True Match formula is one that is suitable for pretty much all skin types. I can’t really think of a skin type that it doesn’t suit. The foundation is light and fluid, so perfect if you’re oily or have oily patches, but it’s also non cakey and doesn’t cling to any dry areas, so also perfect if you’re on the dry side. It’s super bendable for those who want a sheer, natural look but easily build able if you prefer a fuller coverage.
This palette just blows me away. Besides the stunning packaging, the highlighters inside are so, so pigmented. The one I use the most is ‘Royal Gold’, a peachy gold cream highlighter sitting in the top right of the palette. It creates the most amazing shine and is such a perfect all year round colour. And the fact that it’s packaged up with 3 other beautiful highlighters to switch it up with makes it even better.
Now this is technically an eyeshadow which can be used wet or dry, but most people know of its secret power..it doubles up as a beautiful golden highlighter too! Everyone knows I have a huge highlighter obsession so the shade 208 fits in quite nicely with my little (or not so little) collection. This gives a beautiful champagne glow, it blends out nicely and doesn’t add any chunky glitter to my cheek bones.
The one item I always buy from the drugstore is liquid liner. I personally think the cheaper ones are just as good, if not better, than high end versions and it’s just one of those products I don’t see the point in spending a lot of money on. This liquid liner is my favourite as it’s SO easy to use, crazy pigmented and long lasting. It also costs less than a fiver, who can complain at that?! I often struggle to find a black eyeliner that I really like as it has to be super black as well as creamy but long lasting. A big ask, I know. However, this Collection one has come up trumps and I’ve been using it a lot in the past few months.
This 2-in-1 pencil fills and defines your brows with a brow pencil on one end and a brow highlighter on the other. This is the first brow pencil I ever used as I’ve been a huge fan of using brow powders to fill in my brows ever since I started filling them in, but this pencil has certainly stepped up my brow game. It has a fine tip which allows you to create hair like strokes or to shade in sparser patches for a fuller effect. The highlighter end fits perfectly under my brow bone and again has that creamy texture allowing for an ultra smooth, easy application. For all the perfectionists out there, NYX Sculpt & Highlight will be your new bestie.
This palette consists of 5 baked powders; ranging from peach to banana to bronze, 2 shimmer shades (which remind me of the MAC Mineralise Skinfinish) and one satin shade in a light peach colour. My favourite of the 8 shades is he lightest white shade in the top right corner as it’s perfect for highlighting those key areas of your face. Not only is this palette amazing value for money, but the quality of the powders are stunning and the colours blend nicely to create custom shades depending on the look you want to achieve.
Finally, my favourite item – the lip products! My all time favourite drugstore lip product would have to be the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. They come in a huge range of colours, they’re insanely pigmented and not drying on the lips. I must own almost all of the shades now – that’s how much I love them. This product truly rivals the high end brands in the market of liquid lipsticks. If you can’t afford to fork out for a Kylie Lip Kit, this product is the best budget brand I have found to date, retailing at just £5.50.
So there we have it, my top 10 makeup products that all cost less than £10! Have you tried any of these products? Let me know your favourites!
