Hello my lovelies! I thought I’d pop in for a little life catch up – I feel like it’s been the longest time since I’ve connected to my readers on a personal level so now seems as good a time as any to get you all up to date on what’s been happening here in my world.
First (and most obvious) things first; those of you who are regular readers will recognise that the blog has been undergoing a few changes recently. This remains a work in progress and I’m experiencing a few technical difficulties (HTML coding is starting to drive me slightly crazy tbh). Anyway, I hope you are liking the new feel, the idea was something much more modern with a touch of chic. So let me know your thoughts on the new look…
Secondly, I’d like to address the current weird posting schedule. I try to post as frequently as possible, which unfortunately sometimes makes my posting a bit sporadic. I’m finding it extremely difficult to juggle my full time job, social life and my blog, however this is something I’m constantly working on. I am also looking to improve the quality of my posts and photography as I’m not 100% happy with my recent content, so that’s also under review. As of this week I will be putting a post up every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7pm GMT.
I have been meaning for so long to do a big update post on my new job. I started the month of February off with a new position as a Social Media Assistant and it’s been quite the journey so far. It’s been very exciting however equally as exhausting, which has tested my time management skills (or lack thereof). Although I must share that I am absolutely loving it. While I felt very excited at the beginning of the year when I made the decision to leave hairdressing, I was also very scared about what the next few months would bring. I’d been unhappy in my job for so long that I was hesitant to start somewhere new in case that wasn’t the right career fit for me either. I was very lucky to find a job not only quickly but a position that is the perfect fit!
I have to mention that my boss is amazing. We are a tight-knit team and my transition into the team has felt seamless. She has been so welcoming and always willing to help or answer questions as I learn about this new field. We have so much fun at work everyday and I find myself constantly smiling and laughing. She makes sure to always acknowledge the work I am doing and until now, I didn’t realise just how under-appreciated I’ve been in my previous jobs. Being in an environment where you are praised and appreciated really makes a huge difference.
And last, but certainly not least, I have a very exciting announcement which I’m absolutely thrilled to be sharing with you at long last…
The announcement is that I’ll be starting my very own YouTube channel, which feels crazy to type but I am finally taking the plunge after years of watching and years of wishing I had to the confidence to do it too. Since launching my blog in April last year I have realised a number of things, and the most important one is that if you want to do something you should not let anything hold you back. It’s still VERY daunting but I’m pretty much over the whole ‘I wouldn’t be good at it’ and ‘but what will people think?’ doubts and I cannot wait to get started. As I previously mentioned, I’ve longed to start a YouTube channel for a few years now, so this feels like a long time coming and I hope that it will be something that I’ll grow to love doing. My aim is for my channel to consist of lots of vlogs and very much like everything I blog about here on Keeping Up With Kyria, because that’s what I enjoy watching. I am currently in the exciting process of creating a decent setup and my goal is to start my channel in the next couple of months, if everything goes to plan. I can’t wait!
All in all I’m feeling very inspired and excited right now and I’m absolutely delighted to have this platform as an outlet, let alone people who genuinely read it. So lastly but by no means least, is a huge THANK YOU to all of you. It’s nice to know I’m not just writing to myself.
