By now you probably know that palettes are my thing. I collect them and I blog about them a lot. I’ve also been a huge fan of Too Faced for quite some time, so when I finally knew the release date of the Sweet Peach collection, I literally bookmarked it on my phone and was obsessively counting down the seconds until it was released. My wishes were finally granted – at 7.37am on the 14th December and after I stopped hopping from one foot to the other like an excited toddler, I began the waiting game for my little parcel of goodness. Anyway, today I wanted to review this little gem for you.
I have ridiculous feelings about this palette. To me, it’s absolute perfection. I am in love with its beautiful warm tones, soft and creamy texture and insane pigmentation. It is absolutely stunning and I couldn’t be happier that I actually own it. This Sweet Peach eyeshadow palette is causing an absolute storm in the beauty world and I can see why.
The moment I saw the original launch of the Sweet Peach palette I knew I had to have it – it’s PEACH after all! Trying to track down Too Faced’s elusive Sweet Peach palette proved to be much more difficult than I originally thought. It was out of stock everywhere I looked and private online dealers were selling for crazy prices so I knew I had to bide my time and eventually, I would be able to pick this up for a sensible price. Although when the palette relaunched this time around, I was too impatient to wait for it to be released here in the UK so I ended up paying a stupid amount for shipping and taxes anyway. Good one, Kyria.
First off, the packaging is your standard cuter-than-life Too Faced packaging. I expect nothing less from Too Faced, their packaging is always super cute while remaining practical in terms of storage. The packaging is enchanting with its ombre peach motif and peach embossings. It’s metal with a magnetic closure, like most Too Faced palettes, which feels stable. Plus, the colour scheme is such an aesthetic. Just like the other Too Faced palettes, I love the quality of the outside as much as the inside.
When you open this bad boy up, you are greeted with 18 beautiful shades and a heavenly chorus of angels singing Hallelujah. Your nose is also graced by the smell of delicious peaches. To me, the Sweet Peach palette smells even yummier than the Chocolate Bar palettes. I’ve heard a lot of people are finding the smell a little sickly, but I absolutely love the scent of peaches so I’m more than happy to smell like a walking peach all day long. In fact, I have the palette under my nose right now and I am drooling.
The Sweet Peach palette consists of 18 peachy-scented shades with a nice mix of mattes and shimmers. I tried to narrow down my top three shades, but I simply couldn’t so my top five are: Caramelised, Candied Peach, Luscious, Peach Pit and Bellini. I love the combination of shades offered in this palette and I think they work really well together, with an even distribution of matte and shimmer textures. The pigmentation in this palette is insane and the formula is so buttery, I can’t even tell you. The palette also includes a little leaflet showing you how to create three looks that go from a light, everyday look to a dark, smoky eye. The options are endless.
All of the shadows smell like the juciest of peaches – SO GOOD! They are infused with the anti oxidant – rich essence of peach. This palette is the most wonderful mix of peachy pinks, corals and bronzes with a few pops of colour.
You’ll probably notice that this palette is laid out slightly differently to the other Too Faced palettes. Normally – there is two longer shades so the palette only has 16 shades, while this palette has 18 shades in same sized pans. I personally prefer this layout because it means you get more shades.
I was honestly worried that this collection may have been so hyped up that it was inevitably going to fall from grace a bit, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. If you are someone who loves Too Faced products, I would definitely recommend this. It’s super adorable and a must-have for anyone who collects their products. If you love peachy tones as well as neutrals on your eyes like I do, it’s a no-brainer. I am excited to use this palette more and experiment with the shades. No matter what your eyeshadow collection looks like, this palette is worth purchasing. Stay tuned for later this month when I review the rest of the Sweet Peach collection.
Do you own this palette? If so, what do you think of it?
